こんにちは、櫛井です。
去年に引き続き、YAPC::Asiaを担当させていただくことになりました。
周到に仕組まれた罠により、気付いたらイベントをやることになった
前回とは違い、JPAの理事会に呼ばれたと思ったら
「次回のYAPC::Asiaの草案よろぴく」とカジュアルに言われたので
今年も頑張ろうと思います。皆様の協力あってのYAPC::Asiaです。

■テーマと方向性について
今回のテーマは「Evolution」、Perlの先端を行く人をメインにすえたいと
考えています。現在交渉中です。
前回好評だった投票システムも進化させたいと思ってます。
また、去年は初めてだったので出来ませんでしたが今年はちょっと
余裕も出来そうなのでスポンサー企業のアピールが出来る場などを充実させ
Perlエンジニアを採用したい企業と、新たな自分の可能性を模索している
エンジニアとが話せる場所を提供したいなと思っています。
■YAPC::Asiaも進化します
さて、今年のYAPC::Asiaですが、去年の反省点をみっちりと洗い出し
更なる満足度向上のため施策を行う予定でおります。具体的には
以下のようなものを今のところ考えています。
・公式サイトのUI等の見直し
・公式サイトからの素材提供(ロゴ、スライドテンプレ等)
・ランチタイムをリジェクトしない
・懇親会のスピーカー参加費用見直し
・タイムテーブル変更のアナウンス方法の周知(Twitterで一本化)
・英訳についての対応を見直し
・参加者同士の交流をしやすくする何か（名札？飲み会でのしかけ？）
・スピーカーともっと話すキッカケを用意できないか
・投票方法をグレードアップ
・トーク内容のジャンル分けと英語対応の有無を明記
他にもこまごまと考えていますが、これからです。
■会場と日程
さて、会場ですが昨年と同じく東工大をお借りすることがほぼ
決まりました。いつもありがとうございます。
日程ですが、土曜を含めた日程の評判がよかったので今年も
最終日が土曜となるようにセッティングしました。
10月13日(木) 前夜祭(予定)
10月14日(金) 一日目
10月15日(土) 二日目
計三日間です。
今年は他のイベントとかぶらない事を祈ります。
（こればっかりは調整できないので）
「10/13-15のYAPC::Asiaに参加しよーっと！」などのTweetをして
いただけると、うまいこと他のイベント運営の方にも目が止まるかと
思いますので皆様是非宜しくお願いいたします。
というわけで、YAPC::Asia 2011を宜しくお願いします！

YAPC::Asia Tokyo 2011 is coming again!
■ Theme of the conference
"Evolution" is this year's theme, and we're planning on featuring people
who are on the cutting edge of Perl.
The voting system was a great success, and we'll make it even better than last year.
One thing we'd like to improve this year is the opportunity for our sponsors to
appeal their presence. For example, we'd like to provide a chance for
sponsors who are looking for good perl programmers and programmers looking
for new opportunities to meetup during the conference.
■ YAPC::Asia is Evolving, too!
We're going to build on last year's feedback and make this conference an
even better experience for all. Some random things that we're planning to tackle:
・Make a better site
・Provide resources such as logos and slide themes for general use
・We won't reject lunch time (promise!)
・Better accommodation for speakers (e.g. conference social fee)
・Announcement scheme for important events (twitter only)
・General non-Japanese support
・Make it a bit easier for attendees to socialize
・Think of ways to provide more opportunities for speakers and attendees to mingle
・Revamp the talk vote
・Include talk genre and language
There are other things in planning too, but we're still working out the details
■Venue and Schedule
The venue is most likely going to be same as the previous years, Titech Univ, Tokyo.
Many thanks for their help.
Last year was the first time we included the weekend as one of the dates,
so we'll keep it for this year as well:
10/13 (Thursday) - pre-YAPC mini conference / Rejectcon (maybe)
10/14 (Friday) - first day
10/15 (Staurday) - second day
We've already had various inquiries, but hopefully no other events are going to be
on the same date. As much as we'd like to avoid it, there's only so much we can do
about the availability of the venue.
It maybe a helpful to tweet (or post in facebook) that you're "Planning on going to YAPC::Asia Tokyo during 10/13-10/15", so organizers for other conferences notice it :)

Volunteer staff, sponsors, and guest speakers will be announced in the near future.
